The content of the recycled books I use, often dictates the structure of the Reading Chair. The content of the books is exceedingly important to me. I have a strong belief in subliminal message. I now use only books which I consider to contain merit.

Recently asked to use books by 19th Century American Authors, I felt lead to read about them as people. So interesting were their lives, I realize they had to be Reading Chair Portraits. The elements used are symbolic, representing the lives of these authors.
